DEF: Welcome to the programme Sandy for those who don’t already know you who are SKY?
Sandy: Sky is Europe’s leading Entertainment company providing television and broadband Internet services, fixed line and mobile telephone services to consumers and businesses. It has over 33 million customers & over 31,000 employees across 5 countries – UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia & Italy. It is the UK’s largest pay-TV broadcaster with over 11 million customers in the UK alone.
DEF: As a Campaign Planning & Delivery Controller what does that mean for you on a day-to-basis?
Sandy: Ensuring the right tech stack and data integrations are in place to drive Sky’sOmni channel targeting capabilities and audience strategy across multiple product areas and customer lifecycles
DEF: What brought you here? Was it your initial career path of choice?
Sandy: Always been in marketing with data at the heart of marketing strategies. It’s been a great journey from selling lists and labels for direct marketing purposes at Yell Data to managing business risk & data solutions at Experian and Data Planning & Strategy at Sky naturally stepping into driving our data tech.
DEF: What is the best and worst part of the day for you?
Sandy: The freedom to be innovative, continuously looking to be even better and make things happen, and the excitement to go with it is one of the best parts of my day.
DEF: What makes you passionate about the world of digital and technology?
Sandy: The innovations & opportunities to provide personalised experiences and truly understanding our customers, along with the pace of change & delivery.
DEF: What song do you listening to the most?
Sandy: I like a variety of music depending on how I feel and where I am.
DEF: Digital has already taken us on a significant journey both in business and in our personal lives. What big things do you think we should be looking out for in 2018?
Sandy: Leveraging all data sources, AI and technology to be truly personalised in real time whilst being compliant with GDPR.
DEF: And how about looking ahead to 5 years’ time?
Sandy: If we look the pace of digital transformation and the direction it’s going, that’s a scary thought.

Sandy: Yes sure, it’s how to leverage data and technology to be more relevant and targeted in paid media on third-party websites leading to media efficiencies as well as fueling audience’s strategy and being more targeted in owned properties.
